/ Case study
Since 2021 RNR and Fri3nds have swapped seats: RNR designs for our clients, we build for RNR's, from NewsBreak to Coverly.

Fri3nds project record, 2021 to 2025
RNR is a creative studio in Mazatlán, Mexico, run by Gabe Rimmerman and Rocco Xantos. It started as a design duo making brands and websites for small, ambitious companies, and today it calls itself a studio for brands with something to say. Our paths crossed early. In 2022 Gabe also worked with us as our creative director, and RNR's own portfolio lists a top to bottom rebrand of Fri3nds among its projects. So when the two studios began sharing client work, it was between people who already knew how the other one thinks.
The first big job we shared set the pattern. NewsBreak, the local news platform, needed one Webflow site that could speak to contributors, publishers, advertisers and job seekers, and replace a scatter of older pages across several NewsBreak addresses. RNR led the design. We took the build: on the launch tracker we owned 20 pages, from the publisher and advertiser pages to careers, three advertising case studies, a full set of legal and FAQ pages, and the 404. The legacy legal pages had to fold into one page per audience, with redirects, so nothing broke on launch day.

On RNR's projects, RNR owns the design and we turn it into Webflow. Gabe reviewed our staging builds page by page and left comments right on the pages, and we worked through them until each page was done on desktop and mobile. Late issues, like a mobile Safari crash on the NewsBreak About page, were caught in that review loop and fixed before they reached visitors.
The same year we built House of Gul, the creative studio, art practice and shop of artist and designer Ali Godil, which came to us through RNR: a Webflow site with a numbered menu (Story, Garden, Work, Contact, Shop) and a Webflow Ecommerce shop with cart and checkout.

From 2023 the seats swapped. Our clients needed design, and RNR designed for them: event badges, flyers and tabletop displays for the Air Force Armament Directorate shows we ran with Accomplices, and design work across several other Fri3nds client projects in 2023 and 2024.

NewsBreak's new Webflow site was live for contributors by November 2022, and the same Webflow site still serves NewsBreak's creator and business pages today. House of Gul went live on Webflow in October 2022. In 2025 the partnership produced Coverly Home Protection: RNR (Gabe Rimmerman) led the creative direction and design, and we ran the Duda to Webflow migration, with a page for each audience and a launch in one clean cutover.

Each studio can now say yes to work it could not take alone. RNR can sell a full website without hiring a build team, and we can put a seasoned design studio on our clients' brands. The referrals go both ways too: Gabe has sent clients our way, and in 2026 we introduced RNR to a TV production company for a project of its own. Coverly shows the shape it has today: RNR leads the creative direction and design, and we build, launch and hand the site over in the client's own Webflow account.
