Who R&R is and why its own site needed to change

R&R, today RNR, is a creative studio in Mexico, founded in 2020 and run by Gabe Rimmerman and Rocco Xantos. In 2021 its website introduced a design duo making brands and websites for ambitious small companies, with a long home page of values, case studies, a client testimonial, a grid of recent projects and the team. By mid 2022 the studio described itself differently: a design-forward studio making premium Webflow experiences for bold brands. Its own homepage needed to say that, and only that.

R&R's 2021 homepage: Chops, heart, and soul stirring creativity, with a vertical side bar on the left and a circle reading R&R is a design duo that specializes in crafting brands and websites for audacious SMEs.

The challenge: a studio site that says one thing

The 2021 homepage still told the earlier story, and every section of it competed for attention. R&R wanted the opposite: one line about who the studio is now, and one clear next step for a visitor, booking a discovery call. It is the hardest kind of brief for a studio, because its own site is the first piece of work every prospect judges.

How we rebuilt R&R's homepage in Webflow

We worked inside R&R's existing Webflow site, so the studio kept its domain, assets and history. Gabe set the direction and reviewed our build on a shared review canvas, leaving comments right on the page, like taking out the side bar. We cut the homepage down to a single screen: the new line, "R&R is a design forward studio that creates premium webflow experiences for bold brands", a "let's chat" link wrapped in the studio's Audaces Fortuna Juvat seal, a schedule a call button that opens the studio's booking page, and a looping color video set inside a 3D perspective frame behind it.

How the new homepage launched

Gabe's review comments came in on Monday, June 13, 2022. The new homepage was published on Thursday, June 16. It stayed up for more than five months.

What happened next

The one-screen homepage gave R&R a clean front door while the studio grew. By November 2022 R&R had a fuller site with a page for each project, and in 2023 it became RNR Creative Studio. The two studios kept working together: in March 2023 Gabe was tagging our team in the Figma file for RNR's 2023 website, and RNR has designed for our clients and we have built for theirs ever since.
